By now you’ve learned all about the SmartCode. You’ve educated key stakeholders and built political support. You’ve even begun planning your own customized SmartCode as an optional—or even mandatory—ordinance.

Soon will come the time to evaluate project applications, and face a potential scenario where both parties—planner and developer—find themselves on unfamiliar ground.

It's where the rubber hits the traffic-calmed road. And, like any revision to established ways of doing things, it's got the potential to be challenging.

That's why we've developed SmartCode Navigator, a series of hands-on training workshops, designed to help guide you through. Two form-based code administration specialists will come onsite to lead you step-by-step through the SmartCode application process and provide the key guidance you need along the way—for both the developer making the submission and the planner doing the review.

The Administration Workshop includes training for all steps of form-based code daily use, including round table exercises for review of form-based code applications. The Administrative Package includes locally tailored checklists, forms and policies to guide the day-to-day Planning Department procedures. Forms include: Infill Community Plan Application / New Community Plan Application / Building Scale Plan Application / Infill Community Plan Review Checklist / New Community Plan Review Checklist / Building Scale Plan Review Checklist / Density Worksheet / Shared Parking Worksheet / Fee Schedule Worksheet. Policies include: CRC Procedures / Administrative Waivers Policy.
